Overview:

The DJI Matrice 400 (M400) is DJI’s flagship enterprise drone platform, released as the high-endurance successor to the Matrice 350 RTK. Engineered for industrial missions, it features a 59-minute flight time, a 6 kg payload capacity, and an advanced sensing suite that can detect objects as small as thin power lines.

Flight Performance and Build

The M400 is designed for long-duration operations in demanding environments, offering significantly improved speed and endurance over previous models.

• Endurance: Delivers up to 59 minutes of forward flight time or 53 minutes of hover time.
• Speed: Reaches a maximum horizontal speed of 25 m/s (approx. 56 mph), with an ascent speed of 10 m/s.
• Ruggedness: Features an IP55 protection rating, allowing for operation in heavy dust, rain, and extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C.
• Battery System: Utilizes the new TB100 Intelligent Flight Battery (20,254 mAh), which supports hot-swapping to maintain power during battery changes.

Sensing and Safety

The M400 employs a “tri-sensor” approach combining rotating LiDAR, mmWave radar, and low-light vision for superior situational awareness.

• Advanced Detection: Can detect thin objects like power lines (21.6 mm) at up to 25 m/s, even in fog.
• Marine & Urban Ops: Supports autonomous, precise landing on moving ships (up to 10 knots) and enhanced stability near reflective surfaces or building edges.

Payload and Transmission

Designed as a versatile, high-capacity platform, the M400 supports complex, multi-sensor missions.

• Flexible Payload: Carries up to 7 concurrent payloads via versatile gimbal and E-Port V2 interfaces.
• O4 Enterprise System: Delivers 1080p/60fps video at ranges up to 40 km (FCC).
• Enhanced Connectivity: Features an airborne relay mode to extend range and supports sub-2G/dual cellular connections for robust signal in complex environments.

Intelligent Features

• Smart AR: Provides real-time, on-screen visual aids, including Power-Line and Map View AR.
• Terrain Mapping: Features real-time terrain following for consistent data, alongside optional Manifold 3 integration for advanced AI processing.
